This museum has over 50 "hands-on" exhibits in its main Gallery for children of all ages to learn from in the most interesting and funniest ways possible! As a "hands-on" museum, you take the best of both worlds - exhibits and touch or manipulation - and combine them for a world of discovery!

There will be kids activities, such as cultural crafts and inflatable games.

FREE AIRPLANE RIDES W/ EEA 4/4/09 & 4/5/09 (Camarillo & Santa Paula) For youth ages 8 to 17. After the airplane ride, each child receives a "Young Eagles" certificate and a booklet on flying.

SESAME STREET PRESENTS THE BODY 4/5/09 & exhibits until 4/23/09(Hollywood/Highland) Meet Elmo and creator, Kevin Clash, for a free special presentation and autograph signing of Kevin's new book on 4/5 (2 to 4:30 p.m.) This is a one-day event; however, the exhibits will be open until 4/23 and there will be a fee of $10 per child (free accompanying adult per child). SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MUSEUM 4/5/09 (Redlands) See some of the fabulous items created by the Bedazzled Beaders group from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Kids are invited to try beading an item to take home. Demonstration, activities, and museum admission are FREE!

FOREST LAWN 4/8/09 & 4/9/09 (Long Beach) As part of the Forest Lawn Museum's History Comes Alive series, “A Visit with Father Serra” is an educational program that consists of one of California’s most famous figures, Father Junipero Serra, engaging the audience in an interactive discussion on his life as it relates to the history of the California Missions. AMERICAN GIRL PLACE 4/8/09 & 4/15/09 (Los Angeles) Free and open to the public (girls ages 8 and up) - 4/8 Kids will learn how to make their own paper doll clothing using stencils of clothing designs, patterned paper, and decorations to create original outfits for their own paper doll. 4/15 Easy craft activity that teaches girls how to make and decorate butterflies from paper. 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

PASADENA SYMPHONY 4/18/09 (Pasadena) On the morning of each concert, join the Pasadena Symphony for Musical Circus at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. This free program for the youngest members of The Orchestras of Pasadena family begins with a musical “petting zoo” of orchestra instruments at 8:30 am, followed by a performance designed especially for music lovers 10 years of age and younger at 9 am.

Make a real adobe brick to take home, try beating a rug or washing clothes in a washtub, crossstitch a bookmark, play old time games, or join in any of the other activities from the past. LEMON FESTIVAL 4/23/09 to 4/26/09 (Upland) Kids and their parents will enjoy the Children’s Fair, including a petting zoo, pony rides & climbing wall. In addition, kids can enjoy the many “make & take” crafts where only your imagination sets the limits. The now-famous Lemon Pie Eating Contest- a favorite of many “big” kids, is one the highlights of the community stage, along with performance by various youth and community groups. Admission is free.

Authors, fans, publishers, musicians and celebrities come together to celebrate their love for the written word. There will be outdoor states and children areas that will bring books to life. AMERICAN GIRL PLACE 4/26/09 (Los Angeles) Free and open to the public (girls ages 8 and up) - Celebrate friendship with its 2009 Girl of the Year! Girls can create a colorful tribute to the importance of being a good friend by decorating a Friendship Wall with meaningful words to inspire everyone who sees them. Plus, each girl can make a unique friendship bookmark. Also, meet Mary Casanova, the award-winning author of our 2009 Girl of the Year books! This informal session is your opportunity to meet Ms. Casanova in person and have your favorite books signed.

DIA DEL NINO/CHILDREN’S DAY 4/26/09 (Santa Ana) Dia del Niño is a tradition celebrated in Mexico and in many parts of the world-a day when communities honor their children. This event is an effort to bring together communities of diverse cultures, promoting global understanding and celebrating our multicultural nation through play, the arts, and literacy.

AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC Fridays until 5/22/09 (Long Beach) The public is invited to get up close with the ocean’s ultimate predators for FREE during Shark Lagoon Nights every Friday, except 4/17/09 from 6 to 9pm. Guests will have the opportunity to touch bamboo sharks and see large sharks such as sandtigers as well as rays in the Aquarium’s Shark Lagoon.
